Telit LM960A18 Category 18 LTE-A 4×4 MIMO Modem – Mini-PCIe

NOTE: This listing is for models made for Cisco Networks, with Cisco Part numbers. These are refurbished cards.

The LM960A18 Mini PCI-Express (mPCIe) data card delivers high-speed data rates via LTE Advanced Pro [LTE-A Pro] and offers a cellular connection for products in network appliance environments. This data card is well suited for products that demand high throughput to provide the most advanced 4G LTE connectivity, ensuring a rich and seamless user experience. Based on LTE Category 18 (Cat 18). the LM960A18 mPCIe data card achieves download rates up to 1.2 Gbps with 4×4 MIMO +3 CA and 1 GBPS with 2×2 MIMO +5 CA. This product supports multiple RF bands and band combinations to accommodate global deployments.

According to a press release by Telit:

Telit’s LM960A18 Gigabit LTE Data Card Certified Globally

The world’s first mPCIe Gigabit LTE card for enterprise routers and appliances achieves download rates up to 1.2Gbs with 4×4 MIMO +3 CA and 1Gbps with 2×2 MIMO + 5CA

LM960A18 Key Benefits:

  • Standard Mini PCIe Data-card form factor
  • LTE Cat 18: Exceptionally high-speed with data rates of up to 1.2G bps download and 150 Mbps upload
  • Full GNSS support
  • Support of UL with 2xCA and up to 5xCA DL with 4×4 MIMO
  • Very wide LTE frequency bands support
  • Up to 4 independent firmware images selectable at boot to support different network operator requirements
  • 3G fallback technology
  • Support for FirstNet, CBRS, Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) and other new bands, all in a Single SKU.

The Telit LM960A18 uses multiple on card firmware images for each cellular carrier in the US, including a generic image.

NOTE: The Telit LM960A18 is a mini-PCIe card, with MHF4 antenna connectors, unlike other higher end cellular modems which are M.2 modems with MHF4 antenna connectors. This modem first perfectly into the WG1608D-M router, and can also drop right into the WG3526-P router.

NOTE: It is the customers sole responsibility to ensure that the cellular service is compatible with the Telit LM960A18. LTE FIX is not responsible, and will not rake returns, if the customer cannot find a cellular data plan to connect their modem to.

IMPORTANT:  Exercise extreme caution while installing MHF4 connectors to the modem antenna ports.  The ports are delicate and easily damaged.  Assure that the MHF4 connector is perfectly centered, level and aligned with the modem port.  The MFH4 connector will then snap into place using minimum pressure. Do not apply excessive force.
A damaged modem connector port is not covered under warranty.

It is strongly recommended to invest in a quality power strip surge protector (i.e., APC, Belkin,…) to use behind a router and/or electronic equipment.  This will help protect against Transients (momentary spikes/surges in voltage or current) that can be detrimental to expensive equipment.  Transient damage to modems are not covered under warranty.  Protect your equipment!

This modem rocks! You can’t go wrong with this thing. Been hitting speeds of 60-80 down consistently with paddle antennas.
